FAQ's
What is Sunbrushed and how does it work?
Sunbrushed is a self-applied tanning system. You simply wash your skin
surface using the tanning product with a special micro-fiber wash cloth. The
tan results are immediate. During at least a five hour waiting period your
golden tan will continue to darken. Sunbrushed reacts with the amino
acids in the outer layer of the skin. The skin's reaction looks natural as
if tanned from the sun.
How long does it last?
Your Sunbrushed tan can last from 3 to 10 days. The tan is different
for everyone. It all depends on your skin type and how your care for your
skin following the tanning session. This Sunbrushed product produces
color on the outermost layer of the skin, and as this layer is naturally discarded
(cell by cell) your tan fades. As with any tan, long baths, showers, and lengthy
stays in hot tubs or swimming pools with chlorine will cause your tan to be
short lived.
What kinds of results can I expect?
The darker you tan naturally, the darker you will tan with using this procedure.
What are the challenges associated with the Sunbrushed tanning process?
If you have used a sunless self tanner, then you know the problems: orange
color, tanned palms -feet -elbows -knees - streaking, and blotches. The Sunbrushed
wash-on method virtually eliminates most problems associated with self-tanners.
The Sunbrushed special micro-fiber cloth should only be moist (not soaked
or dripping) with the tanning solution. Following each tanning session, avoid
perspiring, sitting on leather seats, wearing tight shoes and clothing and
bathing for at least 5 hours. Make sure that you go lightly over tops of the
hands and feet. Do not rub into these areas. A nice, light application will
give the best results. Keep the Sunbrushed jar tightly sealed and in
a cool dry place. Once the jar is opened, a tight seal is needed to keep the
product fresh.
Are there any side effects to tanning this way?
There may be some people that are allergic to basic inert ingredients
contained in the Sunbrushed product. The worst reaction we know of is
a person broke out with an acne bump or two and that was gone in an hour and
a half. People who are allergic to common things know their situation, so
we ask people who have allergies to look at the ingredients in the product
to insure that there is no cause for concern before proceeding with the tanning
process.
What should I wear while I'm applying the Sunbrushed product and
will it damage my clothes?
You can wear anything you like, depending on where and if you want tan lines.
Any garment that you wear during and after this revolutionary tanning process
should be washed that same day. However, we have found that Sunbrushed
could stain wool, nylon, silk and leather. These fabrics should not be worn
during or immediately following your tanning session.
How long does the "Wash-on" tanning process take?
One of our slogans is "If you can wash ....you can tan". It's that
easy. Once you start washing on the Sunbrushed tanning solution with
the special microfiber cloth, (the cloth should be moist and not soaked) it
should not take more than 10 minutes. The tan is immediate and will continue
to darken your skin until you finally take your shower. Once you take your
shower ... you will notice the excess tanning solution washing off your skin.
Don't panic! You will have a beautiful tan remaining.
Does the new tan provide protection from harmful UVA or UVB rays?
The tan appearance you experience from the Sunbrushed product does not
prepare you for going into the natural sun. While you will be a golden bronze
color, you must approach natural tanning as if you're absolutely pale. Use
sunscreens as if you were tanning for the first time in the year. Always avoid
overexposure to the natural sun or tanning beds. Overexposure to the natural
sun or tanning beds can cause painful and dangerous skin damage.
